Timeline of Indigenous Education
Based on multiple different sites and resources (listed on the resources page of the blog), I have put together a timeline of Indigenous Education in relation to the Canadian Government over the years. The timeline begins in 1828, as the first Residential School in Canada opens. Please expand, zoom and peruse the important historical events that have led to FNMI students' traumatic experiences and gaps in today's education.

As you can see from the events included in the timeline, Indigenous Peoples are still dealing with the ramifications that the Residential Schooling System had on past generations as well as their own. The Canadian government continues to extend their apologies in hopes of reconciling with Indigenous Peoples. However, we know there is still more to do. Please navigate the Inclusive Education tab on my blog to discover different ways that teachers today can help in the reconciliation process.
